A sea of yellow shirts descended on to the streets of Manchester on Thursday night as Bodo/Glimt supporters arrived in force to cheer on their team against Man United.
Fans of the Norwegian outfit, who currently sit above the Red Devils in the Europa League table ahead of Thursday’s clash at Old Trafford, were in high spirits before kick-off having already beaten Portuguese clubs Porto and Braga in the competition this season.
The Red Devils, meanwhile, are still looking for their first win under new manager Ruben Amorim, who succeeded Erik ten Hag earlier this month, having drawn 1-1 with Ipswich at Portman Road last weekend.
Keen to make their voices heard ahead of Amorim’s Old Trafford debut, the yellow-shirted Bodo/Glimt fans were filmed singing, chanting and drinking in various pubs and bars in Manchester before making their way to the historic stadium.
While marching down Deansgate in their droves, several fans let off pyrotechnic flares to coat the streets of Manchester in yellow smoke.
Bodo/Glimt, who have won twice, drawn once and lost once from their opening four Europa League matches so far, could leap into the automatic qualification places with a shock win over the Red Devils.

United, meanwhile, could do the same with a first victory under Amorim, a point behind the three-time Norwegian champions heading into the fixture.
The Portuguese boss got off to the perfect start against Ipswich at the weekend when Marcus Rashford struck inside two minutes at Portman Road, coolly converting Amad Diallo’s low cross to net only his second Premier League goal of the season.
But as Manchester United continued to get to grips with Amorim’s favoured 3-4-3 formation, a significant change from the 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 shape they deployed under Ten Hag, Ipswich regained a foothold in the match and equalised through Omari Hutchinson before half time.
Reds Devils supporters will no doubt be fired up for the match against Bodo/Glimt, eager to witness Amorim’s team in the flesh at their home stadium for the first time.
While Old Trafford plays host to passionate fans on Thursday, it is set to stage a furious fan protest at the weekend.
Protests will be carried out outside both Old Trafford and Anfield on Sunday, with supporters of Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton agreeing to set aside their rivalries to take issue with what they are calling the ‘exploitation of loyal supporters’.
Earlier this week, it emerged that United were increasing prices to £66 for a ticket and abolishing concessions for the rest of the season.

Man United fan group FC58 will hold an anti-exploitation banner with Everton fans on Sunday
Organisers say United’s move came in the same week that the Premier League’s new broadcast rights deal rose by 17 per cent to a ‘staggering £12.25bn’.
There is also a growing concern that some clubs are now targeting the £30 cap on away tickets in the top flight.
At Old Trafford, United group FC58 will hold an anti-exploitation banner alongside travelling Evertonians at the Trinity Statue outside the stadium.
In the later kick-off on Sunday, fans from Liverpool’s Spirit of Shankly will join City’s 1894 and MCFC Fans Foodbank Support outside the foodbank collection point near the corner of the Kop and Kenny Dalglish stands.
