Road closures and public transport diversion are in place across Manchester city centre after a mains water pipe burst.

Portland Street and Piccadilly Gardens bus station have been closed off after the water main burst earlier on Portland Street.

The closures will be in place until further notice and Bee Network buses have been diverted while utility companies carry out repair works, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) confirmed.

TfGM said it has teams across the city centre to support passengers and has advised service users to check the TfGM website or Bee Network app for updates and details on affected services, external.
