A man has been arrested after two men were hurt in an alleged hit-and-run after getting out of their car following a collision.

A man in his 50s was struck by a car on Broughton Lane in Salford at about 17:40 BST on Wednesday, Greater Manchester Police said.

He has been left with life-changing injuries. An 18-year-old man was also hurt after being “dragged along” with the vehicle and both men remain in hospital, the force said.

A man in his 50s is being questioned on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody.

GMP said investigations were ongoing and appealed for anyone with information or video footage to contact them.
