A man has died after falling from a hot air balloon while it was in the air.
Police were alerted to reports of the fall on Friday morning.
The man, who is yet to be formally identified, is understood to have fallen near Newpound Common, Wisborough Green.
Sussex Police confirmed a body had been located in a field on Friday afternoon following a search of the area.
The force went on to say the victim had been among a group of people travelling on the balloon from Billinghurst to Dunsfold.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
“Following an extensive search the body of a man was sadly found in a field at 1.50pm,” the force said.
“The search was carried out by neighbourhood officers, police drones, search officers and dogs.”
