Graham Wright was reported missing from Glasgow last month

Police investigating the death of man whose remains were found in Loch Lomond have charged a man with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Graham Wright, 38, was last seen in the Gorbals area of Glasgow, on 20 August. His remains were found at the Rubha Dubh, near Firkin Point, on 13 September.

Detectives said the death was being treated as unexplained and may not have been a murder.

Police Scotland said a 53-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A force spokesperson said: “Graham’s death continues to be treated as unexplained and extensive inquiries are ongoing.”

A charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice can include crimes where the accused has given false information or made efforts to destroy or hide evidence.

Scotland understands a post mortem examination has yet to take place as not enough of Mr Wright’s body has been found.

This has also delayed the force being able to confirm whether he was murdered.

Police have been seen in the Gorbals, Rutherglen and Castlemilk over the past two weeks, visiting different flats in each area.
