Married At First Sight’s explosive reunion dinner on Sunday saw controversial contestants Ellie Dix and Jono McCullough admit they were a newly-formed couple.
And while Ellie, 32, arrived happily on the arm of Jono, 40, the bride is said to be ‘traumatised’ by the way she was depicted on the hit reality show’s finale.
One of Ellie’s best friends, Tahli Passeri, claims that the editing of the show has cast the couple in an unflattering light and that Ellie has copped a lot of flak online as a result.
Passeri told Yahoo Lifestyle that she was concerned by the messages that her friend had received since appearing on the reunion special.
‘It is disturbing the hate and revolting comments Ellie is receiving. She is extraordinarily traumatised and as someone who has known her for 18 years, I have never seen her so upset,’ Tahli said.

‘She is one of the kindest, most genuine, loyal, compassionate and loving people I know,’ she continued, after claiming that some of Ellie’s most controversial scenes in the reunion special were highly edited.
‘To see her receive so much hate and derogatory comments based on a substantially edited television show is saddening,’ she added.
According to Tahli, the show’s production told Ellie and Jono to keep their relationship a secret from the other castmates, and edited out the footage of the pair being greeted warmly as they arrived.

She also claimed the footage of Ellie’s foul-mouthed rant at the dinner party made it look like it was directed at Jono’s former bride, Lauren Dunn, when it was actually intended for Sara Mesa.
This was confirmed by Ellie herself when Daily Mail Australia spoke exclusively with the MAFS bride on Monday.
‘I think I was just you saw some horrible language from me and that was actually at the end of the night and it was directed at Sara [Mesa], not at Lauren,’ said the reality TV star.

In the scene that went to air, Ellie says, ‘Are you f***ing serious, I left the experiment in week five you f***ing b***h’, in what looks like a direct response to Lauren.
But the clap-back was apparently directed towards Sara after she accused Ellie of craving screen time.
‘I never had any issue with Lauren and she didn’t have an issue with me. It was Sara who got involved saying that I was just doing this for the limelight,’ Ellie explained.
‘It was the very end of the dinner party, but yeah, they didn’t show that.
‘They showed that in the middle and It was like I was saying it to Lauren, when that was certainly not the case,’ she added.
Speaking with Daily Mail Australia, Ellie claimed the scene was heavily edited and her insults were directed towards fellow MAFS bride Sara Mesa (pictured), rather than Lauren
