Lloyds Banking Group has revealed plans to close a further 95 branches across its high street network.

The shutdowns will impact all three of the banking giant’s brands: Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland.

These closures are scheduled to take place over a period spanning May 2026 through to March 2027.

The Lloyds Bank brand faces the largest reduction, with 53 locations set to close their doors.

Halifax will see 31 of its sites shut down during this period.

Bank of Scotland branches account for the remaining 11 closures in the announcement.

Cash access network Link has confirmed that 15 new locations will be designated for banking hubs to safeguard cash availability nationwide.

These shared facilities are staffed by employees from various banks on a rotating basis, providing customers with services such as cash withdrawals, deposits and bill payments.

Lloyds is currently partway through an existing closure programme that will result in 49 branches shutting by October.

Approximately twelve months ago, the group announced 136 closures.

Following completion of all previously confirmed shutdowns, Lloyds Banking Group will operate 610 branches in total.

A spokeswoman for Lloyds stated: “Customers want the freedom to bank in the way that works for them and we offer more choice and ways to manage money than ever before.”

She added: “From our leading apps and 24/7 messaging service to local banking options like our community bankers, PayPoint and access to all of our Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland branches, we’re giving our customers the flexibility to bank wherever and whenever they need us.”

The group emphasised that customers can access services through digital platforms, round-the-clock messaging support, community banking representatives and PayPoint locations alongside traditional branches.
