Donald Trump has pulled off an astounding political comeback and regained the White House as he’s declared the winner of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

He becomes the first president in over 130 years – and only the second in history – to win a non-consecutive second term.

Harris did not come out on stage at her alma mater, Howard University, where she planned to celebrate election night.

Hillary Clinton also waited until the next day to concede the 2016 election.

• In three — Nebraska, Florida and South Dakota — efforts to write abortion rights into state constitutions failed.
• Meanwhile Missouri viters overturned one of the nation’s strictest abortion bans, protecting the right of an abortion up until viability.
• In Arizona, which currently bans abortion past 15 weeks, voters backed a measure to protect abortion rights up until viability. Though there’s no defined time frame, doctors say viability is sometime after 21 weeks.
• In Nevada, New York and Colorado, voters reaffirmed abortion and reproductive rights.
• An abortion rights measure in Montana had yet to be called.

CNN’s Jake Tapper was left stunned after preliminary analysis showed that Kamala Harris failed to convincingly outperform Joe Biden across any state.

The Vice President not only lost to Donald Trump, but appears to have unperformed across the board compared to Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

Analysis by CNN at around 2am (ET)  Wednesday revealed that Harris failed to out perform her boss by three percent in any state.

Though Republicans have been named the winners of the White House and Senate, dozens of races in the House of Representatives may take days if not weeks to call.

Donald Trump was projected as the winner of the 2024 election by the Associated Press at 5:34 am ET on Wednesday morning after the outlet declared the Republican had won the critical swing state of Wisconsin.

The GOP also gained control over the Senate after flipping multiple seats red, with some races still yet to be finalized and pick-up opportunities still on the table.

Republicans now need to maintain control over the House to have a full supermajority in Washington, D.C., which would have major consequences for Democrats.

Democratic Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego, an Iraq War veteran, took an early lead over well-known former television news anchor and staunch Donald Trump ally Kari Lake in Tuesday’s election for U.S. Senate.

The race in a state with a recent history of close elections is among a handful of contests that will determine how large a Republican majority Trump will work with in the Senate when the president-elect returns to the White House next year. The GOP clinched the Senate majority Tuesday night, retaking it from Democrats who held it for four years.

In a break with tradition, Lake and the Arizona Republican Party did not hold an election night party. She posted about results in the presidential race and shared complaints from others about the pace of vote counting in Maricopa County but did not say anything about her own race.

The winner of the Senate race will replace Kyrsten Sinema, whose 2018 victory as a Democrat created a formula that the party has successfully replicated since.

VP Kamala Harris is expected to address her supporters later on Wednesday at her alma mater, Howard University, in Washington DC, NBC reported.

It’s not clear at what time Harris will deliver the speech.

Harris had planned to celebrate election night Tuesday at Howard, but her supporters were left waiting as it was announced she would not make a speech as Trump’s win became evident shortly after midnight.

The American rapper, 32, unleashed an expletive-laden rant towards Trump’s army of supporters as the Republican leader closed in on a historic win to cement his return to the White House.

Trudeau congratulated Trump in a post on the social platform X and included a picture of the two of them in the White House during the President-elect’s first term.

Trump as president called Trudeau ‘weak’ and ‘dishonest’ and attacked Canada’s vital trade. He threatened tariffs on cars and imposed them on steel.

Senior Trump adviser Jason Miller appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday and shared what’s next for the Trump team.

Miller said Trump is ‘doing great’ this morning after his electoral win.

‘He wants to heal the country. This is the time when we put aside political divisions.

‘We bring Democrats, Republicans, people awho aren’t involved in politics, together.’

Trump cannot run for re-election again after being elected to two non-consecutive terms.

The US Costitution’s 22nd Amendment dicatates that presidents can only serve a total of two terms, or eight years – a precedent set by George Washington.

It reads: ‘No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.’
