Liam Payne’s second album has reportedly been put ‘on hold’ as his career suffers yet another set back.
The former One Direction star, 31, released the first single from his second album titled Teardrops back in March.
However the single failed to make it into the charts and now The Sun has revealed that since then his second album has been halted.
The singer previously had chart-topping success with his single Strip That Down, which was written by Ed Sheeran and featured Quavo.
Yet since then the star has left his former manager as a friend told the publication: ‘Things are tough for Liam at the moment. His former manager Roger stepped back earlier this year.

‘He was a steady hand for Liam and he appears to be struggling without his guidance. Things have started to seem slightly erratic, with plans being made before they are cancelled last minute.
‘Liam had been doing really well on his second album but now it’s completely on pause. Liam is telling people now he has no idea if it’ll ever be released.’
MailOnline have contacted Liam’s representatives for comment.
Liam released the first single, Teardrops, from his upcoming album back in March, however he has been quiet on Instagram since.
The musician was seen sobbing in a behind-the-scenes clip which was filmed during the making of his new album.
Posted on his Instagram and TikTok in March, Liam showed how much emotion he’d hauled to the surface in a bid to make a heartfelt disc.
Of the pain he put himself through, he said: ‘There were definitely a lot of teardrops shed in making these records and for the first time you really get a picture of what it was like for me each day of making this record.
‘This album literally is that whole last year for me. How I was feeling on those days is each record. It was a snapshot of that day.’

Earlier this year it was also reported that Liam’s plans to tell all in an upcoming documentary had been put on hold due to his ill health and decision to focus on his music.
The star was due to spill the beans on life in the boyband as well as his addiction struggles. However The Sun revealed that the plans for the film have been halted and Liam has decided not to take the project any further.
The star’s idea for the documentary was sparked in April 2023 after he attended the premiere of his ex-bandmate Louis Tomlinson film All of Those Voices.
It was claimed Liam had already began having conversations with producers, however now the star has reportedly chosen to focus on his music and health.
A source told the publication: ‘This time last year, Liam was all fired up about his comeback and teasing new music, but then his health deteriorated.
‘He has hours and hours of footage, and there was interest from various production companies, but in the end he decided not to take things further.’
They added: ‘While he is far better than he was towards the end of last year, Liam is still taking time out to focus on himself. His comeback is a moving picture, but the plan is to release new music within the next two months.’
It was reportedly hoped the film would have been released on Netflix or Prime Video around the same time as the release of his second album.
Meanwhile it has been a difficult year health wise for the star after he was hospitalised with a kidney infection in Italy in 2023.
He was forced to cancel his tour after being ordered to ‘rest and recover’ by doctors.
Sharing a video to announce the news, Liam told fans: ‘This really is the last news I want to be telling you but basically I’ve been a little bit unwell recently.

Liam is currently in a relationship with Kate Cassidy
‘I ended up in hospital with a bad kidney infection. We started rehearsals and I’ve been advised that now is really not the right time to be travelling on the road while I recover from this.
‘I’ve got the best people around me at home trying to help me recover as we speak, but yeah we’re gonna have to reschedule the tour.’
In August 2023 Liam’s distraught mother fought back tears as she revealed how the superstar’s family are all ‘worried sick’ over her son’s emergency dash to hospital.
Speaking from her three-storey, £360,000 detached home near Wolverhampton, Karen Payne, said: ‘We are all worried sick about it but we just have to get on. It’s horrible – him being all the way over there.
‘He’s in Milan and it sounds like he’ll be there for a week. I feel helpless’
The 62-year-old added: ‘All we can really do is sit it out here and hope for the best. There is nothing we can do. We feel helpless.
‘It’s such a horrible situation and we just hope he’s in the best place possible.’
