Labour has sunk into a record low after being leapfrogged by the Greens with Zack Polanski’s party just two points behind Reform UK, according to a new poll.
The poll of 2,073 people taken on Sunday and Monday has the Green Party on 21 per cent, up four points since they defeated Nigel Farage’s party in the Gorton & Denton by-election.
Reform remains just in the lead on 23 per cent, with Labour slumping down to 16 per cent, down two points on the previous week and its lowest polling score on record.
According to the YouGov poll, the Conservatives are on 16 per cent, only the second time the party has recorded such a low rating. Sir Ed Davey’s Liberal Democrats remain unchanged on 14 per cent.
In another win for Polanski’s party, polling suggested the Greens were the most popular party among voters under 50, including 49 per cent of those aged 18 to 24, and 27 per cent of those between 25 and 49.
It was also the most popular among women, backed by 23 per cent of female voters, reports The Times.
Reacting to the poll, Mr Polanski said: “Turns out lowering bills, protecting the NHS and rebuilding our public services is really popular.
“This is just the beginning, people are seeing through the attacks and demanding something better. And we’re making hope normal again, together.”

Last night, in crunch talks with Labour MPs, Sir Keir Starmer took aim at both Mr Farage and Mr Polanski.
He said: “Politics is changing, and changing decisively…[but] I believe, and continue to believe, that there is a mainstream majority in this country who neither want Nigel Farage or Zack Polanski as their Prime Minister.”
According to the poll, out of those who voted Labour in 2024, just 37 per cent would vote Labour again, 25 per cent would now vote Green, eight per cent Lib Dem and 20 per cent don’t know, would not vote or refused to say.
While Reform maintains a lead in the polls, it has plummeted from highs of 29 per cent over the summer and autumn, with the figure at 23 per cent being the lowest recorded for Nigel Farage’s party since last March.

The Green Party’s newest MP, former plumber and plasterer Hannah Spencer was sworn in to Parliament on Monday after winning last week’s poll, after beating Reform UK into second place, with a majority of 4,402.
Global Head of Politics and Elections at YouGov Anthony Wells said the Greens appeared to have “winners’ aura” after securing their fifth seat in the Commons.
He told The Times: “What Gorton demonstrated is that Greens can win elections and as a result may appear like a more viable option and less of a wasted vote.
“However, it remains to be seen to what extent it sticks, or whether it fades again as the immediate publicity boost recedes.”
Keir Starmer has insisted Labour is delivering ‘progressive’ policies

Speaking to his MPs, Sir Keir said Labour is delivering “progressive change” with “moral purpose” under his leadership.
He added that “generational change” is “already happening” as a result of his Government.
The Prime Minister pointed to the Employment Rights Act and Renters’ Rights Act as examples of laws aimed at helping Labour’s traditional voters.
He also singled out the Government’s investment in the NHS, drive for clean power and action on child poverty.
