Labour MPs are facing a challenge to follow the Conservatives example and “put party second” in ousting Sir Keir Starmer from Downing Street, journalist David Maddox has told GB News.

The Independent’s political editor, who revealed months in advance Peter Mandelson had failed security vetting, compared the Tories actions during the dying days of Boris Johnson’s premiership to the current Government.

“Whatever you think about the Conservatives, Tory ministers resigned to force Boris Johnson out.

“The Tories accepted the Privileges Committee report. Tory MPs on the privileges committee actually found Boris Johnson guilty,” Mr Maddox said.

He felt the time had arrived for Labour lawmakers to consider “putting party second” and make similar moves against the embattled Prime Minister.
