King Charles has been left ‘perplexed’ by Prince Harry’s latest dig at the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex took a swipe at “men in grey suits” as he alluded that royal insiders are attempting to derail reconciliation between the prince and his father.

A Buckingham Palace source stated that Harry’s latest comments will make rebuilding their monarch’s relationship with his youngest son more challenging.

The royal source told the Mail: “The reality is that senior aides have been working privately to improve what is an important family relationship.

“Such public pronouncements only serve to make that endeavour more difficult.”

It comes after a source close to Prince Harry said: “The relationship between the Duke and His Majesty The King is a matter for the two of them and the two of them only.

“The men in grey suits should stay out of it.”

The Duke of Sussex and the monarch met face-to-face for the first time in over a year and a half earlier this month in what was seen as a major development in rebuilding their relationship.

Prince Harry stepped down as a working member of the Royal Family in 2020 and has launched several high-profile public attacks on the Royal Family over the last five years.

The talks held between King Charles and his youngest son at Clarence House appeared to signal that a feud between the Duke of Sussex and the Royal Family was coming to an end.

However, a spokesperson for Prince Harry stated on Saturday that recent quotes from royal insiders indicate some are “intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.”

It comes as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are pushing for a new relationship with the Royal Family that would ease their security fears in the UK, according to a source.

A Buckingham Palace source told The Telegraph: “It’s very sad, especially because everyone has been working hard behind the scenes to make the private relationship work.”

King Charles has made clear to his youngest son that he can not have a part-time role in the Royal Family; however, the prince is said to want to strike a fresh agreement with the monarch.

A source told the Mail that Harry and Meghan want “friendly relations with the King and to be in a position to move between Britain and the States regularly with no fears for their security.”
