The King has taken on the role of patron for the Community Security Trust, the organisation responsible for monitoring antisemitism and safeguarding Jewish communities across Britain.

Lord Finkelstein, the Conservative peer, revealed the news at the opening of the CST’s annual fundraising dinner on Monday evening.

The charity works to protect British Jews while tracking incidents of antisemitism throughout the country.

According to the CST, the monarch’s decision to accept the patronage reflects “His Majesty’s long-standing support for the UK’s Jewish community and the wider fight against antisemitism”.

The charity further stated that the King’s “long-standing commitment to promoting tolerance, inclusion and interfaith understanding aligns closely with CST’s mission to protect British Jews”.

GB News understands the patronage was part of a regular review of patronages, which has been in the works for some time.

His Majesty has maintained a consistent record of supporting dialogue between different faith communities and championing inclusive values.

The patronage represents a significant endorsement for the organisation, which plays a central role in Jewish community security across the nation.

Buckingham Palace has not yet issued any statement regarding the announcement.

The news emerged during what has been a particularly difficult period for Britain’s Jewish population, with concerns about antisemitic incidents continuing to rise.

The announcement follows an arson attack targeting a Jewish volunteer ambulance service in Golders Green during the early hours of Monday morning.

Three hooded individuals were captured on footage dousing vehicles belonging to Hatzola, a community ambulance service, with accelerant before setting them alight and fleeing the scene.

The blaze caused oxygen canisters inside the ambulances to explode at approximately 1.45am, shattering windows at a nearby synagogue and several residential properties.

Police are treating the incident as an antisemitic hate crime, with the Metropolitan Police’s counter-terrorism unit also investigating amid suspicions of Iranian involvement.

Residents were evacuated as a precaution, though no injuries were reported.
