Kim Kardashian seemed to be feeling a little melancholy about the joy and pain of motherhood in a short post on social media on Saturday.
The influencer, 44, who is reportedly a fan of Emily Austen’s book, Smarter: 10 Lessons for a More Productive and Less-stressed Life, left an emotional quote in her Instagram Stories.
The mother-of-four shared the sweet sentiment which read, ‘The sad part about motherhood is that you’re raising the one person you can’t live without… to be able to live without you.
Kardashian did not attribute the quote to anyone.
The Skims founder is a single mom to North, 11, Saint, who will turn nine in December, Chicago, who will celebrate her seventh birthday in December and Psalm, five.

She shares her children with ex-husband Kanye West, 47.
Her moving Instagram post comes after a source claimed that ‘Kanye is sadly not around very much’ for the children, to the point that Kim is ‘pretty much a single mom.’
The insider added: ‘Although she has help, it’s still a lot of work for her to balance and coordinate everything.’
Per the source: ‘Kim’s life is around her kids’ schedules. When they are in school, she works. When they are off, she’s very much focused on being a mom.’
The insider shared that Kim ‘is not even dating anyone now’ because her lifestyle is ‘all about work and the kids,’ via People magazine.
In an interview with Jay Shetty in his On Purpose podcast in May 2023, the reality star spoke about the difficulties of parenting without a partner.
‘Obviously, having nannies and a chef to help cook is beyond helpful … But at the end of the day, your kids only want you,’ she explained.
‘The struggles that my kids go through really have nothing to do with the amount of help that I have.’ she said.

In a birthday post honoring the original ‘momager’ on November 5, Kardashian wrote, ‘Happy Birthday to the queen of our world!
