Actress Keira Knightley has addressed the backlash surrounding her involvement in Audible’s forthcoming Harry Potter audio series, responding to questions about boycott movements connected to author JK Rowling’s views on transgender matters.

The 40-year-old performer spoke publicly about her participation in the project during a recent interview, acknowledging the ongoing debate surrounding Ms Rowling’s statements on gender ideology.

The Harry Potter creator has faced sustained criticism over several years for her positions on transgender issues, leading some fans to call for boycotts of related projects.
