A man who was forced into hiding nine years ago has told Sir Keir Starmer that he has “signed his death warrant” after the introduction of a definition for Islamophobia.

Speaking to GB News, Nissar Hussain branded the Prime Minister a “traitor to his country” in a scathing verdict of the Government’s plans, which he says will have a sinister outcome for him.

Recalling what happened to him and his family after converting from Islam to Christianity, Mr Hussain revealed he suffered an “onslaught” of abusive attacks, with one in particular involving “pickaxe-wielding thugs”.

He told GB News: “I converted to Christianity in 1996. My family and I were terrorised. We suffered acts of terrorism over two addresses.

“I’d moved from Birmingham, settled into my nursing career, was raising a family, and actually nothing has prepared myself and my family for this type of onslaught.”

Expressing his outrage on GB News, Mr Hussain declared he has been subject to abuse simply for becoming a Christian.

He explained: “This is a failed state from where I’m sitting. The state has failed us, Bishops have failed us. I was brutally attacked and almost killed.

“I was getting in my car, being pummelled to death by pickaxe-wielding thugs, for no other reason than converting to Christianity, my fundamental British right. What has happened to this country?”

Delivering a stark message to Sir Keir, Mr Hussain hit out at the Prime Minister and Bradford Police for “failing” him and his family, forcing them into hiding after “20 years of abuse”.

He stated: “Keir Starmer, if you’re listening, you are a traitor to this country, to the British people, and you’re a traitor to Ex-Muslims in particular.

“You’ve signed my death warrant along with Bradford police, who vilified me and my family for trying to protect my four daughters and my two sons. I’ve done nothing wrong.”

Mr Hussain compared the failure of the system to deal with the abuse he faced to the victims and survivors of Britain’s grooming gangs, particularly in Rotherham.

He said: “After 20 years of suffering from 1996 over two addresses under the failed system of Bradford police, it is just like with the rape victims, these poor girls, rape jihad. Let’s get this in perspective, okay?

“They turned a wilful blind eye, threatened parents with arrest for no other reason than lamenting for their daughter’s safety. This is the current state of Britain.”

Delivering his verdict on the Government’s newly announced definition of anti-Muslim hate, Mr Hussain stressed that there is a “serious problem” with Islam in Britain.

He made clear: “We need to have a very serious conversation – 48,000 Islamic terror attacks over 70 countries since 9/11, and they dare tell me that Islam is a peaceful religion. There is a serious problem with Islam and it needs addressing.

“Our British way of life, my life, my family’s life has been disintegrated. We’ve been under police protection for the last nine years. I can’t show my face in inner city, in a town of this once amazing country, for fear of reprisal or death or something’s going to come my way.

“Am I going to get mown down? Am I going to get acid thrown in my face? Am I going to get a drive-by shooter? This is the reality of this country and the British people need to understand.”

In a statement, a Yorkshire Police spokesman has previously said: “Hate crime would not be tolerated.

“Our priority has always been to work effectively with our partners to minimise the risk to Mr Hussain, and to ensure that we maximise opportunities to put control measures in place to safeguard him, his family and consider any wider impacts upon the communities across West Yorkshire.”
