Sir Keir Starmer has been accused of “being held hostage” by Iran’s Islamist regime – just as hundreds descend on London to protest against the Ayatollah’s rule this afternoon.

The protesters, who have flocked to the capital to make their way from Whitehall to the Iranian Embassy, have been banned from using instruments or banging objects to make noise.

The Metropolitan Police said the ban was to “precent serious disruption” and “limit disturbance” to nearby residents.

But, before making her way to the protest, Iranian human rights activist Lily Moo joined GB News to blast Labour for “trying to deny the freedom of Iranians” and accused Sir Keir of not doing enough for the cause.

Her appearance on the channel just comes days after Sir Keir blocked President Trump from using UK bases to launch possible strikes on Tehran.

“I would have imagined that our Prime Minister would have prioritised the national safety and security of the UK much more than this,” Ms Moo said.

The activist cited the Manchester synagogue attack, which was conducted by a British-born citizen who had pledged allegiance to Isis during a 999 call.

“For me, it’s absolutely baffling that our Prime Minister not only is not supporting the important and rescue mission from the American state towards the Iranian people, he’s trying to deny the chance of freedom to Iranian people by not siding with them actively,” she added.

“For seven consecutive weeks, I, along with my peers, have been campaigning peacefully outside No10, where 50,000 plus people have been peacefully protesting outside the residence of our Prime Minister.

“Nobody from the Labour Party has yet graced our stage.”

Ms Moo has received support from other parties, including MPs from Reform UK, with party chief Nigel Farage often speaking out about the tragic loss of life on the Ayatollah’s watch.

She added: “What is baffling is, why is the Labour Government so resistant in showing support towards the will of the British public, with the Iranian diaspora here in London?”

“What we had last week, last Saturday on Valentine’s Day, Iranians chose to show might and unity across the globe.

“I was in Munich, where a quarter million Iranians came to show support for the regime change. Voices of Iranian people and Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi.”

Yet, Ms Moo expressed disappointment with Labour for not having spoken out about her cause, slamming the “absolute abandonment and neglect to our plea”.

“Why is the UK Government being held hostage at the ideology of the Islamist regime in Iran?” she questioned.

The activist further accused No10 of double-standards and claimed the pro-Palestine marches, where protesters brandished pictures of the Ayatollah across London.

Last week, Mr Pahlavi joined hundreds of thousands of protesters across the world, from Munich, Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, Lisbon to Sydney and London.

Coming together, the Crown Prince demanded the overthrow of the Iranian regime, slamming its crackdown on citizens that has left thousands dead.

Activists claim that the death toll is upwards of 30,000.
