GB News star Andrew Pierce was taken aback after a former Labour Councillor claimed Sir Keir Starmer has a “great vision” for Britain.

Discussing the Prime Minister’s chances at the Welsh elections in May, Simon Nash predicted Sir Keir’s Government will “do quite well”.

Ahead of May’s election, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage unveiled his party’s new Welsh leader, Dan Thomas.

The Welsh-born ex-Tory addressed the crowd ahead of the Senedd elections, declaring he has “come back to where I belong”.

Asked whether the May elections will result in a “new two-party rule” between Reform and Plaid Cymru, Mr Nash said: “Well, it does seem like that, but I don’t think Plaid Cymru is going to do particularly well.

“Does anyone really want Welsh nationalism? They’ve done very well being part of the UK, and I don’t think Plaid Cymru is going to do very well at all, I think Labour should do quite well.”

Heaping praise on the Prime Minister, Mr Nash added: “I think Labour should do quite well. Keir Starmer has a great vision for the UK, he’s building great British Railways…”

Andrew then interjected, astounded at the claim: “Are you serious?! Are you talking seriously?! With what’s happening in Wales, they’re in absolute revolt over the Labour Party?

“The polls are suggesting that Labour could be in third place?”

Mr Nash continued to defend Sir Keir, responding: “Well, it’s the Conservatives as well, which says a lot and Reform have had a lot of great publicity.”

Andrew interjected again, arguing: “I know you’re going to be loyal, but come on, be realistic. They are facing an existential crisis in Wales. They couldn’t even win the Caerphilly by-election?”

Mr Nash told GB News: “By-elections are tricky, aren’t they? Because lots of parties put all their energy into it, and Labour probably didn’t, on the basis of, well Reform are going to put all of their activists on the streets.

“I think that people will actually see what’s going on. Keir Starmer has dropped this absurd digital ID thing, he’s putting a lot of money into nuclear and renewable energy, and I think that that’s going to really help.”

Mr Nash added: “He’s gone back on the pub tax issue, and that’s going to help lots of the small pubs in Wales, and Wales is a thriving place for pubs.

“And if people actually listen to that, I think they would say, well, they’re probably going to vote Labour, and I mean, what’s Reform UK offering, a sheep farmer?”

As Andrew argued that things have “got worse for Sir Keir on the national stage” and is now “embroiled in the scandal about Peter Mandelson”, Mr Nash said: “Well that’s true, it’s not a good look.

“Government ministers involved in embassies and exports, they deal with all kinds of unsavoury characters, don’t they?

“Did Peter Mandelson really know Epstein’s crimes at the time?”

Andrew interjected, making clear: “Yes, he did. He was staying in his house when he was in prison for trafficking teenage girls.”

Mr Nash continued: “Well, did he know exactly what he did? Did he know that that was the offence? Epstein could have lied.”
