Katie Price has revealed that her eldest son, Harvey Price, is preparing to move into his own flat as he takes a major step towards independent living following his time at a specialist college.

The 47-year-old shared the update on The Katie Price Show podcast, explaining that the 23-year-old’s new accommodation is located just 15 minutes from her own home.

“We are looking at his place this month, he should be moving at the end of this month,” she said.

The newly built property is still undergoing final checks, with finishing touches and regulatory requirements being completed before Harvey can move in.

Ms Price said she was excited about the transition, adding: “I can’t wait.”

Harvey lives with several complex health conditions which means he requires specialist care and support.

He has Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic condition that causes a constant sensation of hunger and can lead to obesity, and he is also autistic.

The model’s son has also been diagnosed with ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder, and has septo-optic dysplasia, which has resulted in blindness.

Because of these combined needs, Harvey attended a residential college specifically designed to support young adults with complex disabilities.

Ms Price has previously said her son sometimes became bored there and frequently expressed a desire to return home.

The move into supported independent living marks a significant milestone, which Ms Price described as Harvey entering “the real world”.

She also shared plans to make the flat feel homely and personal, revealing she intends to kit it out in a similar way to her son Junior’s home.

“I’m going to get him green SMEG kettle and toaster, new plates, same as how I kitted Junior out,” she said.

Her shopping list also includes larger items, with Price adding: “I need to get him a new sofa, new bed, new bedding.”

Harvey’s well-known love of frogs will also be reflected in the décor, with his mother planning to display a collection of frog toys in a net in the corner of his room.

“I’m going to make it a home from home and he will love it. I’m excited for him,” she said.

The journey to securing the new accommodation has not been without challenges.

Ms Price previously revealed that changes in management at Harvey’s college created uncertainty over his placement, with staff later telling her they could no longer cater for him because he was “too difficult”.

“We worked months and months for that and he was told four-and-a-half weeks before that he couldn’t go there,” she explained, adding that Harvey had already begun counting down to the move.

She described the process as stressful, highlighting the extensive meetings and paperwork often required when arranging appropriate care for someone with complex needs.

Despite the setbacks, Harvey has remained focused on his next chapter and is looking forward to his leavers ceremony, where he will be presented with certificates.

Harvey is the son of Price and former Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke, born in 2002.

Their relationship was turbulent during the pregnancy, with Yorke initially denying paternity until a test confirmed he was Harvey’s father.

Ms Price has since said she wanted to ensure her son could never accuse her of preventing contact with his father.

She revealed that her mother Amy continues to contact Mr Yorke’s management each year to offer opportunities for him to see Harvey at Christmas or on birthdays.

“It’s always the same answer, just not interested,” Price said.

Despite this, she remains optimistic about Harvey’s future as he prepares to begin life in his own home.
