Princess Kate will join more than 80 prominent business figures at Salesforce Tower in London next Tuesday for a landmark early childhood development event.

The Princess of Wales will participate in the first Future Workforce Summit, an initiative organised by The Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood.

The gathering represents a key moment in Kate’s ongoing campaign to transform Britain’s approach to the earliest years of life.

Leading executives from across the UK will convene to explore how corporate investment in early childhood can shape future generations.

Kensington Palace confirmed the Princess’s attendance at the November 18 summit, which forms part of her broader mission to create positive societal change through early years advocacy.

The initiative seeks to mobilise corporate Britain to invest in early childhood development, with an ambitious target of benefiting more than one million young children and babies within the next year.

Business leaders will examine how supporting the earliest years can cultivate essential human capabilities required for tomorrow’s workforce, particularly as technological transformation reshapes employment landscapes.

The summit addresses the critical intersection between early childhood investment and future workforce readiness.

Participants will explore strategies for businesses to contribute meaningfully to child development whilst preparing for an era of rapid technological evolution and workplace transformation.

Broadcaster Mishal Husain will lead the day’s proceedings, which feature contributions from notable figures including former England manager Sir Gareth Southgate and research psychologist Professor Marc Brackett.

Harvard University’s Professor Robert Waldinger and psychotherapist Philippa Perry will also present sessions during the event.

Representatives from taskforce member organisations, including Aviva, NatWest Group, Iceland, Ikea UK and Ireland, The Lego Group and Deloitte will share their achievements in reaching over 500,000 young children and babies to date.

Additional presentations will showcase innovative programmes from Amazon, Kellogg’s, Jude’s, Salesforce and the Co-op, demonstrating the expanding corporate commitment to early childhood development.

The Princess established the Business Taskforce in March 2023 to mobilise corporate engagement with early childhood development.

During its inaugural year, the taskforce published a comprehensive report outlining how businesses can drive societal transformation through early years investment, identifying five key areas for maximum corporate impact.

The summit announcement follows the Princess’s recent revelation that her annual Together at Christmas Carol Concert will return to Westminster Abbey on December 5.

This year’s service will celebrate themes of love and unity, featuring readings from actors Hannah Waddingham, Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor, alongside performances by the Westminster Abbey choir.
