The Princess of Wales will attend the National Memorial Arboretum’s Armistice Day commemoration, participating in the nation’s Service of Remembrance at the Armed Forces Memorial.

Next Tuesday at 11am, the royal will observe the traditional two-minute silence alongside other attendees.

Following this solemn moment, she will place a wreath honouring those who gave their lives in military service and recognising all who have served in Britain’s Armed Forces.

The engagement ensures there will be a royal presence at the memorial site’s annual commemoration of the armistice that ended the First World War.

The commemoration will include a specially written poem by the Arboretum’s resident poet, Arji Manuelpillai.

The poet’s work explores the personal relationships and shared experiences that develop through military service, subjects that resonate deeply with the Princess of Wales.

Musical contributions will come from Talent in the Ranks and Black Voices during the ceremony.

After the service concludes, the Princess of Wales will see the recently inscribed names on the Armed Forces Memorial.

The Letters from the Frontline exhibition presents wartime correspondence from 1945, revealing the evolving experiences and feelings of military personnel and their loved ones during the Second World War’s closing period.

Created through collaboration with BBC radio stations throughout the Midlands, the display features poignant letters that illuminate this pivotal moment in history.

The exhibition’s subtitle, Words, War and Victory, reflects its focus on personal narratives from the conflict’s final months.
