Kate Beckinsale has denied kissing her ex Matt Rife at a Golden Globes afterparty on Sunday night.
Following an account of a steamy reunion between the pair from Page Six, a rep for the actress, 51, shut down reports that they locked lips at Spago, where Netflix hosted a soiree.
‘It is incorrect that they were kissing,’ her rep told People. ‘They are friendly exes who were having a fun time speaking.’
The pair previously dated in 2017 when Rife, 29, was just 21 and Beckinsale was 43.
‘Her arms were around his neck and his arms and hands were around her waist. They were very close and then I saw them kiss a couple times,’ said the witness.
It was added about the interaction, ‘They were kissing and being affectionate with one another.’

Another person there detailed, ‘They are friendly exes and were having some funny conversations.’
After one year of dating following an introduction through a mutual friend, Kate and Matt ended their romance.
Per Page Six’s ‘spy,’ the reunion between the exes ‘happened near the end of the night.’
‘They were in front of everyone in the corner of the main dining room. By this time it wasn’t packed, people were filtering out,’ the source described.
The Canary Black star went on to date another famous and younger comedian, Pete Davidson, in 2019.
Matte publicly slighted Kate at the time, advising Davidson, now 31, to ‘run.’
‘Man to man: run,’ he said on camera while chatting with TMZ, adding, ‘Enjoy it while you can. I hope they’re both happy.’
He also warned Pete to ‘be careful’ before telling the outlet there was ‘not a chance’ that he would ever rekindle with Kate.

Following Sunday night’s awards ceremony, Matt praised fellow comic Nikki Glaser for her hosting success
‘It was complicated,’ the jokester said of their fizzled relationship. ‘A lot of ups and downs, but she’s moved on and I’m happy.’
Rife eventually walked back his harsh comments about Kate and said he regretted publicly putting his ex down.
The standup comedian said he was being ‘a petty a**hole’ during the TMZ interview.
He explained to Elle, ‘I gave that advice because I was only speaking from personal experience, having been together and finding out that we weren’t the most compatible match.’
Matt added, ‘I wanted to make sure that both of them were careful with their emotions and didn’t head into something that they also wouldn’t… that also wouldn’t work out.’
This past July he called quits on his relationship with actress Jessica Lord, whom he dated for less than a year.
On Monday the entertainer praised fellow comic Nikki Glaser for her hosting success following the Golden Globes.
‘@Nikkiglaser absolutely crushed the Golden Globes last night! Go watch all her work,’ he advised his nearly nine million followers.
