Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper has warned his fans that they could soon be saying goodbye to British dairy farmers due to the current conditions they’re facing.

The young farmer, who shot to fame after working alongside Jeremy Clarkson on his Oxfordshire farm, is no stranger to voicing his worries about the future of farming since building a public presence.

Back in September, for instance, Mr Cooper conceded the job was getting “harder and harder” each year due to the changing weather conditions plaguing the UK’s harvest seasons.

But the challenges aren’t only with Mother Nature. Mr Cooper joined fellow farmers descending on Westminster last year to protest the inheritance tax changes proposed by Chancellor Rachel Reeves.

Now, as he films his new solo show in Australia, Mr Cooper has taken to Instagram with a new warning to his fanbase.

“Milk price for farmers dropping, hay silage and straw at record high prices = no more dairy farmers,” he pointed out.

“Say goodbye to milk,” he warned before adding in a separate post: “Another thing is that no matter where you go these days, everyone has a pint of milk in the fridge.

“Most people you ask how much that pint of milk costs them won’t know! It’s something we need all the time.

“PS if you’re lactose intolerant, I’m sure you won’t have milk in the fridge, but you will most likely keep some just in case you have a friend comes around for a cuppa.” (sic)

Mr Cooper’s fury comes after it was revealed that many producers are set to receive less than 40p per litre of milk by December.

The decision has been taken by processors in order to curb supply and maintain profit margins.

There have been several contributing factors behind the drop in price, such a falling wholesale prices on dairy products such as cheese and cream, as well as an ample supply of milk across the country.

Muller and Arla, two of Britain’s biggest dairy processors, announced the disappointing price cuts to farmers this week.

Agriculture director at Muller Milk & Ingredients, Richard Collins, confirmed that the reduction was a result of tough global market conditions and higher-than-expected production.

“We’re seeing continued pressure in dairy markets, with market price reductions and daily collection volumes significantly higher than the same period last year,” he said, according to Northern Farmer.

“Our approach is to pay a competitive and stable milk price, and we’ll continue to keep a close eye on supply and demand.”

While milk prices are slashed in the UK, Mr Cooper is currently battling with a unique challenge of his own on the other side of the globe.

That’s because Mr Clarkson’s right-hand man is currently filming his own show for Amazon Prime Video in Australia.

Announcing the news last month, Mr Cooper shared with his fans: “I’ve got some news! I’m going to be going down under/to Australia to film my very own series on Prime Video.

“You know hard it is for me to leave Chippy so flying to Australia is definitely taking me out of my comfort zone.

“But I’m on a mission to see if I can make my farming contracting business go international.

“But first I’ve got to get through the flight!!! Don’t fear though, my chippy friends, I will be back.”

Inevitably, fans have expressed their excitement at seeing Mr Cooper helm his own show, while Mr Clarkson reacted with his typical dry humour.

On Instagram, the former Top Gear star responded to the announcement: “I’m so happy about this. Because finally I can run my farm without him mucking everything up.”
