Singer Jess Glynne has expressed fury at the White House for a post on its X account using her song to poke fun at migrants being deported.
The post came amid an ongoing social media joke which see’s Glynne’s song, Hold My Hand, used in the background of clips.
The 2015 track is used by travel company Jet 2, with actress Zoe Lister voicing the soundbite: “nothing beats a Jet2 holiday”.
In a controversial decision, the White House jumped on the viral trend by using the British airline advert’s voiceover and song over a video showing handcuffed people being led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers onto an aircraft.
The X post was captioned: “When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation. Nothing beats it!”
The clip has sparked huge backlash to the White House account, with Glynne, 35, among those to express outrage over the post.
Sharing a screenshot on her Instagram Story, London-born singer Glynne wrote: “This post honestly makes me sick.
“My music is about love, unity, and spreading positivity – never about division or hate.”

“Welp…it was fun while it lasted. Thanks to the White House, jet 2 holiday has officially been canceled. S*** not even funny anymore,” a second commented.
“It’s funny how absurd it is that the White House are making a joke of this. not the actual vid,” another wrote.
“Disgusting,” someone else penned while another added: “This is gross. I’m for deportation but this feels yuck.”
“Even as a Trump supporter, that was on the cringe side,” someone else admitted.
Agreeing with Glynne, one more added: “Her music is for healing not for hate. Love wins every time.”
