Television presenter Jeremy Clarkson has disclosed an awkward predicament at airport security stemming from his significant weight reduction whilst taking Mounjaro.

The 65-year-old broadcaster shared on X, formerly Twitter, that he faces difficulty keeping his trousers from falling when required to remove his belt for body scanners.

“Mounjaro problem. I never saw coming. At airports you’re made to remove your belt and then told to stand in the body scanner with your arms in the air. So you can’t hold your trousers up,” he wrote on Saturday.

The former Top Gear host’s post rapidly garnered thousands of likes, with followers responding to his predicament with amusement and sympathy.

Mr Clarkson underwent emergency heart surgery at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital last year following chest pains, an intervention that potentially prevented a fatal cardiac event.

The Clarkson’s Farm presenter subsequently adopted a healthier lifestyle, initially trying Ozempic before switching to Mounjaro after experiencing adverse effects.

He previously told The Times he “was sick a lot” on Ozempic, explaining: “My body lost the ability to deal with gluttony but once the initial enthusiasm had worn off, my mind still wanted to breakfast on Cadbury Fruit & Nut.”

The television personality, who resides on a 1,000-acre farm in Chipping Norton, has shed two stone through what he describes as “microdosing” the type 2 diabetes medication.

Social media users responded with humour to Mr Clarkson’s airport dilemma, with one commenting: “Mounjaro pants at airports: the ultimate test of willpower. Hold up or let loose? The real security risk is dignity.”

When another follower remarked “Yet another holiday,” Mr Clarkson replied: “Yup. I had one last year.”

This isn’t the presenter’s first public trouser mishap since beginning the medication.

At September’s National Television Awards, where Clarkson’s Farm won Best Factual Entertainment, he required assistance from partner Lisa Hogan.

“I should explain I’m on Mounjaro, my trousers are falling down,” he told the audience, adding: “Lisa’s going to hold my trousers up whilst I make a very short speech.”

Mr Clarkson has attributed his reduced appetite to Mounjaro, stating he “no longer wants to eat my own body weight in chocolate and beef.”

The medication has enabled him to resist temptation, with the presenter noting he “could open the fridge door, look at all the goodies, then close it.”
