Jeremy Clarkson has delighted supporters by revealing that his Diddly Squat farm shop will extend its opening hours into the new year.

The Clarkson’s Farm presenter shared the news via the shop’s official Instagram account, posting an image with the message “We have an announcement.”

The accompanying caption explained that overwhelming visitor interest had prompted the decision to keep the Chipping Norton establishment trading throughout January and February.

Fans immediately flooded the comments section with enthusiastic responses to the update.

“This is great news,” wrote one follower, whilst another expressed relief at the extended opening, noting they would be unable to visit during December but now had the opportunity to return.

The announcement sparked widespread celebration among the show’s dedicated fanbase.

A third commenter praised the hard work of the team, writing: “Well done, for all the farmers that provide and your staff.”

Others shared their personal plans, with one parent revealing they intended to bring their daughter to the farm shop for a February birthday celebration.

Elsewhere, Mr Clarkson has slammed popular BBC series The Traitors, which has recently wrapped up a celebrity edition.

The series has been a stand-out success for the BBC in recent years, ever since the civilian series first debuted in 2022.

This year marked the show’s first-ever celebrity edition, with 15 million households tuning into the finale to witness Alan Carr emerge victorious over his fellow famous faces.

Mr Clarkson has expressed doubt about the show’s authenticity though, stating: “Come on, I’ve worked in television for 30 years.

“You’re not going to spend that much money on a programme where there’s a risk it all falls to pieces.

“So, I’ve no idea how they’re doing it, but I bow down to them,” he added, according to the Daily Mail.

When asked outright if he believed manipulation from the producers was at play, Mr Clarkson alleged: “They must be – and I’m not just being a cynic, I know how television is made.”

However, Mr Clarkson made clear he joins the millions of fans who enjoy the series, describing it as a “belter”.

Despite this, he went on to state he “wouldn’t in a million years” sign up for the celebrity edition.

The presenter did, however, speculate that his former Top Gear colleague Richard Hammond might be tempted to take part in the competition.
