Jeremy Clarkson has hit back at a disgruntled social media user who urged people to stop giving his pub, The Farmer’s Dog, their custom.
The establishment near Burford in Oxfordshire was opened by Mr Clarkson back in August 2024 as an outlet for the Top Gear star-turned-farmer to distribute exclusively British farmed produce.
It also provided the basis for the fourth series of his record-breaking Amazon Prime Video series, Clarkson’s Farm.
However, the pub has found itself in the news of late after Mr Clarkson confirmed that, after initially only banning Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, he would now deny entry to all but one Labour MP.
“To be clear, I have banned all Labour MPs from my pub, except one: Markus Campbell Savours. He’s welcome any time,” Mr Clarkson posted on X over the weekend. “And not just because the Labour Party has now sacked him.”
His X post came just 24 hours before he wrote in his weekend newspaper column that he “wanted Labour out”, and urged Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham to steer clear of a leadership charge as his competence could be a boost to the party.
Mr Clarkson’s decision to stop Labour Party members from enjoying a pint of his Hawkstone beer at his pub has been welcomed by many of his fans, but it has caused a few raised eyebrows from those on the left.
One such disgruntled social media user decided to put out a plea following Mr Clarkson’s pub ban, penning on X that he and others should avoid the establishment for somewhere “more welcoming”.

AMAZON“It’s time for us all to get out of Jeremy Clarkson’s pub and into somewhere more welcoming,” they suggested on X.
“Whatever it is he is *farming*, we’d rather raise a pint to those less aligned to right-leaning sentiments and more aligned with majority values and interests.” (sic)
Hundreds of Mr Clarkson’s fans promptly dismissed the social media user’s suggestion, with the Grand Tour star deciding to address the boycott threat himself.
“Okey doke. Off you go,” the 65-year-old brutally replied, swatting away the X user’s suggestion.

Inevitably, it didn’t take long for fans of Mr Clarkson to react to his retort, with many siding with the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host’s putdown.
“If I ever end up back in England I plan on going to The Farmers Dog. Loved Top Gear and Love Clarkson’s Farm. I try not to make my dining decisions based on politics. Seems a pathetic way to live,” one X user hit out.
A second echoed: “I’d rather raise a pint to you because you stand by your convictions and don’t let weird nonsense like that bother you. To you Clarkson.”
“The arrogance of these people to think you’d give a toss is staggering,” a third quipped, while a fourth remarked: “If I lived there I’d be at your pub every day. JC for PM!! Restore sanity to the UK.” (sic)
And another praised: “Visited a few days ago, fantastic pub, great food and service and absolutely heaving with paying customers. Banning Labour MPs can only improve it.”
Mr Clarkson’s disdain towards the current Labour government stems from his opposition to proposed changes to inheritance tax for farmers.
His support for Mr Campbell-Savours, the only Labour MP permitted to visit the Farmer’s Dog, comes after he was a lone voice in opposing the changes in parliament.
During parliamentary proceedings on the inheritance tax changes, Mr Campbell-Savours told the Commons: “There remain deep concerns about the proposed changes to agricultural property relief.

Mr Clarkson has persistently urged Mr Starmer and Chancellor Rachel Reeves to U-turn on the changes made to agricultural IHT.
