Sir David Beckham surprised Jeremy Clarkson with a birthday cake during an Inter Miami fixture at Freedom Park Stadium on Sunday, as the club faced New York Red Bulls.
The broadcaster, who turned 66 on Saturday, shared a photo of the moment on Instagram, showing Mr Beckham holding a cake decorated with candles and colourful icing while Mr Clarkson placed an arm around him.
The former Top Gear host jokingly captioned the post: “A man I met at a football match in Miami gave me a birthday cake. So kind.”
The milestone birthday fell a day earlier, with the surprise taking place during the weekend’s MLS clash in Florida.
Fans of the famous friends were quick to share their delight in the comments.
“The most legendary British man. And Beckham,” one fan quipped, while another joked: “Jeremy Clarkson and a fan.”
Another commented: “Great to see!”
“Utter legends,” penned a fourth.

The pair have formed an unlikely friendship through their proximity in the countryside, where Mr Clarkson has owned Diddly Squat Farm since 2008.
The property, near Chadlington, later became the setting for Prime Video’s hit series Clarkson’s Farm.
Mr Beckham’s Cotswolds home, near Great Tew and close to Soho Farmhouse, places them within easy reach of Clarkson’s Oxfordshire farm.
Sir David was joined at the match by his wife Victoria Beckham and their sons Romeo and Cruz, as the family watched from the stands.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
The outing comes amid continued attention on the Beckham family, following eldest son Brooklyn’s recent social media posts marking his fourth wedding anniversary with Nicola Peltz.
Brooklyn, 27, confirmed in January that he had completely cut ties with his famous relatives through a lengthy six-page statement posted on Instagram.
In the explosive social media post, he levelled several accusations against his parents, including claims that his mother Victoria, had labelled him “evil” over the wedding seating arrangements.
The dispute allegedly stemmed from Brooklyn’s decision to seat his grandmother, Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at their table because neither had a husband.
He further alleged that Victoria, 51, had embarrassed him at the reception with what he described as an inappropriate dance that reduced his bride to tears.
The statement concluded with Brooklyn declaring he would never communicate with his family again.
Previous reports had also indicated tension arose over Victoria not designing Ms Peltz’s wedding dress.
Brooklyn was notably absent from a recent family gathering in Miami, where the Beckhams celebrated the completion of David’s $750 million (£652 million) football stadium, now known as Nu Stadium.
