Chloe Gill, the wife of former JLS star JB Gill, has revealed her harrowing A&E experience after her young daughter Chiara became unwell.
The Gill’s share two children, son Ace and youngest Chiara, or Kiki for short.
The mum-of-two revealed on Monday that she had taken her daughter for emergency treatment after discovering a possible infection in her daughters eye.
“When you get that gut feeling you can’t shift, this is your reminder to ALWAYS listen to it,” she advised in the Instagram update.
Explaining how the saga began, Gill explained that she “ended up taking Kiki to A&E a few days ago as I wasn’t happy with her eye.
She didn’t have a stye she ended up having Periorbital Cellulitis and needing IV Anti-bitoics straight away to get it under control,” the worried mum revealed.
Gill shared the heartbreaking photos of her daughters urgent treatment on social media
Periorbital cellulitis is “a bacterial infection that causes inflammation of the eyelid and skin around the eye.”
The condition can be picked up via a minor eye injury or though an infection that spreads to the eye from a cough or cold.
It requires antibiotics to heal and if left untreated can lead to loss of vision, brain abscess, meningitis or progress to the more serious orbital cellulitis.
Thankfully, Gill caught the infection just in time and medics were able to get Chiara the care she needed.
“She’s finally on the mend and turning the corner, I can’t thank all the doctors and nurses in the paediatrics department at @kingscollegehospital,” the relieved mum wrote
She also thanked the hospital home team members Rachael and Kelly “for being so lovely to her and looking after her (Chiara). Your job is invaluable, and we appreciate you all so much!
“It got to the point where people began saying that I was physically there but mentally absent! I was en route to burning out so this break was well and truly needed!!
“I learned a lot about myself, the main thing being that somewhere deep inside me, I have a grit and determination that will not allow me to break. I had multiple tests and situations that brought me close to breaking point but each time I realised that it was nothing a good cry and pulling up those big girl pants couldn’t sort out.”
She accompanied the reflective post with a sweet snap of herself and her family on the beach.
