James Middleton has given fans a rare insight into his family life as he shared a footage from a trip with his partner, Alizée Thevenet, and young son, Inigo Gabriel.

The couple’s soon to be two-year-old son was seen getting up to “cheeky” antics during a hike through a forest.

The video, filmed by James, showed Inigo romping around a forest as he followed closely behind his mother and two of their dogs.

Inigo could be seen scrambling up a path and brandishing a stick, which he playfully whacked Alizée’s backpack with after chasing after her.

The youngster was then shown playing on a riverbank, running through the long grass and throwing sticks for the dogs into the water.

In another cheeky moment, Inigo then fruitlessly attempted to push his mother into the stream while she knelt on the bank.

“My adventurous (and cheeky) little boy. How are you nearly 2 already,” James captioned the video.

The proud dad added: “Everyone says it goes fast…but I didn’t realise it would be this fast.”

James protected his young son’s anonymity by obscuring his face, filming the youngster from behind throughout.

Inigo’s cheekiness certainly charmed royal fans in the comments of the post, with the top reply comparing him to his cousin, Prince Louis.

“I can imagine him and Prince Louis having a very fun mischievous time,” the commenter speculated enthusiastically.

Louis, the youngest son of James’s sister, Princess Kate, and Prince William, has regularly drawn attention for his own antics.

During recent royal events, the seven-year-old has played with his father’s uniform and mimicked his older brother George.

Another commentor of James’s post penned about Inigo: “He’s adorable, even when he’s trying to push his beautiful mum into the water! And those cute doggies too, what a lovely family.”

“The days are long, but the years are short. I hope he stays adventurous always! What an adorable trot he has,” a third cooed.

“Trying to push mum in,” a fourth exclaimed followed by crying with laughter emojis.

A fifth observed: “He is his father’s Mini but has his mother’s hair.”

Inigo’s blonde hair has been the subject of much surprise among royal watchers, given both the Middleton family’s brunette locks.

The child’s full name, Inigo Gabriel Middleton, holds special significance for the family. In his memoir, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, James revealed the meaning behind the name.

“Gabriel is in memory of his grandfather, Alizée’s papa. It is a small tribute and we look forward to sharing lots of stories about his French grandad too,” he explained.
