Jackie ‘O’ Henderson is certainly no stranger to flaunting her sartorial style at swanky events.
But the radio queen, 49, was a notable omission from Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup celebrity roster.
The blonde beauty has revealed that the reason she decided to ditch this year’s race that stops the nation is simply because she’s not a fan of horses.
‘It is like, “Why do I really want to go? Am I interested in the horses? No”‘, she told News Corp on cup day. ‘What is the reason for going?’
Jackie added that she has reached a point in her life where celebrity-filled soirees’ don’t necessarily hold the same appeal as they once did.
‘I think so often we are motivated by ego and it is so hard to strip that bare,’ she said.
‘You start to hang out with people and think: ‘Who are these people?”
Jackie was quick to point out that here moment of reflection was not indicative of a mid-life crisis.

‘It sounds like I’m having a mid-life crisis, but it’s the opposite.’
Jackie’s comments come after the radio titan made a stunning on-air admission, last month, about her addiction issues during a tearful conversation with her co-host Kyle Sandilands on their KIIS FM radio show.
She revealed that at the height of her addiction, she took around 10-12 Stilnox/Zolpidem sleeping pills and 24 Panadeine Forte a day and would take them while drinking alcohol.
Jackie also admitted she checked into the Betty Ford Clinic in California in November 2022, when she took an extended break from The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
However, many criticised the radio personality for using an overseas facility favoured by the rich and famous, while thousands of Australians struggle to afford local rehabilitation services.
In response, Jackie revealed on Instagram that she would be donating the profits from her tell-all memoir The Whole Truth to Odyssey House Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre.
‘Odyssey House provides life-changing support to individuals seeking treatment but who are struggling financially…the work they do is powerful, important and transformative,’ Jackie wrote.
Appearing on A Current Affair this week, Jackie revealed her life got so bleak at one point following the collapse of her 18-year marriage to photographer Lee Henderson, it’s a miracle she survived.
‘I coped really badly. I didn’t do it the healthy way, that’s for sure,’ she told host Allison Langdon.

‘I thought the answer was, ‘Oh, I’ll have a drink instead. It was a horrible existence of just not remembering, not wanting to think, feel, do,’ she went on.
‘I don’t know how I woke up either… someone was watching out for me,’ the mother-of-one admitted.
The entertainment veteran went on to reveal she would routinely wake up gasping for breath, describing the terrifying sensation as if she’d ‘stopped breathing’ during the night.
When asked if she cared whether she survived, Jackie answered with stark honesty.
‘Not really. I don’t think so,’ she replied.
‘It just goes to show how looks can be deceiving, right?’ she added.
