Jack Whitehall has been confirmed as the host for next year’s Brit Awards, marking a sixth time that he’s overseen the ceremony.
However, for the first time in the awards’ history, Mr Whitehall won’t be handing out the accolades from London.
Instead, next year’s Brit Awards are heading north to Manchester, with the ceremony set to take place at the Co-op Live.
Mr Whitehall will be on hand to provide the jokes and try and keep things on track during the ceremony on February 28, 2026.

Speaking about the news, Mr Whitehall admitted he couldn’t wait to return, explaining why Manchester has a special spot in his heart.
“I am so excited to be coming back for this very special Brit Awards in Manchester, a place that is so important to me,” Mr Whitehall said.

“The city I started my comedy career in, it feels like a real full circle moment returning to host this historic night at the Co-op Live, a venue that is only a stone’s throw away from the comedy club I did my first 10-minute set in all those years ago.
“Hopefully, I get a few more laughs than I did that night. I cannot wait.”
Mr Whitehall studied at the University of Manchester before moving into comedy and, by his own account, credits the city as one of the most influential places that helped shape his early comedy career.
Stacey Tang, Chair of the 2026 Brit Awards Committee and Co-President of RCA Records at Sony Music UK, also welcomed Mr Whitehall’s return.

“His legacy hosting the awards speaks for itself, and as the BRITs enters a new era, in a city familiar to him, there’s nobody better placed to take the helm of the biggest night in music.”
Mr Whitehall has been a familiar face on screens and the stage for years, most notably for his Travels with my Father series.
He’s also toured across the UK, US and Australia and New Zealand with his stand-up shows.
