Amy Childs has broken her silence following the burglary at her £1.7 million Essex mansion, which was “completely trashed” by intruders while she holidayed overseas with her family.

The 36-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex star took to Instagram on Wednesday to address the break-in, which was discovered when she returned from the trip with husband Billy Delbosq, 43, and their four children.

The reality television personality is the latest in a string of high-profile figures to fall victim to burglars, joining fellow former Towie cast member Megan McKenna and married couple Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright, whose properties have also been targeted.

Police and forensic teams have attended the five-bedroom property, which also features a cinema room, though it remains unclear exactly what was taken.

In her Instagram Stories post, the mother of four acknowledged the flood of support she had received from concerned followers.

“Many of you have reached out after hearing what happened, so I just wanted to say thank you,” she wrote.

Ms Childs went on to confirm the devastating news directly: “Unfortunately, our home was burgled while we were away.

“We’re devastated, but so thankful that no one was in the house and everyone is safe.”

She indicated the family needed space to come to terms with what had happened, adding: “We’re taking some time to process everything and really appreciate all of your messages.”

The family had been enjoying a sun-soaked getaway before arriving home to discover the property had been ransacked.

A source revealed that Ms Childs was “absolutely heartbroken” upon seeing the state of her home.

“She is just grateful that she and the kids were away when it happened, because it would have been terrifying if they had been there when the burglars came,” the source said.

The full extent of what was stolen remains unknown.

“At the moment, she isn’t sure exactly what’s been taken as the place is totally wrecked and police have been there along with forensics,” the source added.

“It’s a total nightmare and really freaked her out.”

A spokesman for Ms Childs confirmed the incident, stating: “No one was hurt, which is the main thing. The police are all over it.”

The representative added that the family were “devastated but thank god everyone is ok.”

The burglary comes just days after Ms McKenna, 33, revealed on the Great Company With Jamie Laing podcast that masked intruders armed with machetes and baseball bats broke into her Essex home, prompting her to leave the country.

The terrifying raid occurred shortly after her June 2025 wedding to Scottish footballer Oliver Burke, 29, who plays for Union Berlin.

Mr Burke had returned to Germany the day after the couple landed back from their Montenegro honeymoon, leaving Ms McKenna alone.

She described waking to find the house “shaking” before three balaclava-clad men hacked through a false wall connecting her dressing room to her bedroom.

“I can hear they’ve got weapons. They’re hacking my wall down,” she recalled telling police during a seven-minute wait for officers to arrive.

One intruder seized jewellery directly from her hand before the group fled.

Ms McKenna told the podcast that she had previously been unable to discuss the ordeal publicly because the perpetrators were facing criminal proceedings.

“I was robbed really badly in my own home. It scared me so much to be in the UK and to live in the UK on my own, because obviously Ollie’s in Germany,” she said.

The experience left her feeling “obviously targeted” for her valuables and permanently altered her sense of security.

“It changes you forever,” she said.
