Good Morning Britain star Narinder Kaur has weighed into the “race row” that erupted on Sunday evening’s I’m A Celebrity.

The episode saw the first eliminations following the public vote, with comedian Eddie Kadi and sports presenter Alex Scott booted off the show.

Reacting to the exits, many took to social media on the night to argue the first vote indicated a “race bias” and reflected “racist” attitudes.

Ms Kaur was among those to agree as she shared an article highlighting the reactions on Monday evening and added her own take.

The Good Morning Britain panellist wrote: “ITV I’m A Celebrity embroiled in ‘racism’ row as first two voted off are…. surprise surprise the black contestants.

“Now I’m no expert but this isn’t new – love Island, Strictly, Big Brother….first ones voted off tend to be POC.”

Her remark further escalated the debate, with many taking to the comments to agree or challenge her viewpoint.

One penned: “Or it could be nothing to do with them being poc, maybe they just weren’t entertaining the audience. With respect, I think you’re looking for something that isn’t there.”

Another shared: “It could never be that they just didn’t cut it? It has to be racism yes?”

A third commented: “How do any of us know this? it’s all speculation. There’s any number of reasons for them being voted off.”

Another remarked: “They were just the most boring,” with someone else echoing: “Maybe they’re just unpopular.”

“The ones with the fewest votes! Coincidentally two of the contestants that had the least TV time. Could it be that they were just not making interesting TV moments? Kelly Brook seems fairly unpopular with viewers makes lots of TV moments and is still in there,” a different fan added.

However, others agreed with Ms Kaur, with one person posting: “Exactly what I thought last night.”

“Spot on. The pattern is real and frustrating,” another stated. (sic)

On Monday, Vogue Williams became the third to leave after the second public vote.

Speaking to Ant and Dec following her exit she reflected on the struggles in camp.

“What got to us most was the hunger. We’re absolutely starving,” she shared.

“It tastes like nothing; it’s mush. No, [it doesn’t sustain you], because you’re doing so much in camp.

“You’re up and down getting stuff. What surprised me was how much I wanted to do the trials.”
