‘Reddit is down. It’s not just you,’ one of many frustrated users posted to X on Friday.
DownDetector’s heat map appeared to show that those most impacted (or most likely to report the issue) were based in New York and Chicago — with Reddit users in Atlanta, Los Angeles and San Francisco not far behind.
The site appeared to show improvements within an hour of the issue arising.
One error screen, apparently from Reddit and posted to X, explained that the cause was related to the site’s content delivery network (CDN): ‘Our CDN was unable to reach our servers,’ this message read.
