The BBC has found itself embroiled in a fresh scandal after it emerged the broadcaster had “doctored” footage of Donald Trump to make it appear as if he was encouraging supporters to riot.

A Panorama programme showed the President appearing to say: “We’re going to walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be there with you and we fight. We fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell you’re not going to have a country any more.”

In reality, Mr Trump had told his supporters to walk to the Capitol to “peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard”.

Tory chief Kemi Badenoch has demanded that the person behind the editorial decision be sacked as she warned “heads should roll”.

“Everyone with a TV pays a licence, they are funded by us and they should not be telling us things that are not true. Heads should roll,” she told GB News.

Now, The People’s Channel is asking: Is it finally time to scrap the BBC licence fee?
