The coroner offered her “sincere condolences” to Brandram’s family, in particular his sisters Sophie Voelcker and Alexia Hicks who were at the hearing in Fulham.
The court heard that Brandram’s brother-in-law used a spare key provided by a neighbour and found the married banker in an upstairs room.
Paramedics attended but despite their resuscitation efforts he was pronounced dead just before 21:00 BST. The police did not view his death as suspicious or as having any third-party involvement, the inquest was told.
Brandram’s family have insisted he was not the jogger, referred to as the Putney Pusher in media coverage at the time, and blame the Met Police’s handling of the case for his death.
They said last week that he “took his own life after months of immense pressure caused by a Metropolitan Police investigation”, and there was no forensic evidence linking the banker to the incident.
The force said it recognised the “strain that being subject to a police investigation” could cause.
