Officers are asking for anyone with information or who knows the suspect to contact the force

An image of a man suspected of a serious sexual assault on a teenage girl has been released by police.

The victim reported the attack took place at about 01:00 GMT on 28 November at Nuthurst park in New Moston, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

She reported she met a man in his mid-20s at Newton Heath and Moston tram stop and he walked with her to the park.

The suspect is believed to be from Failsworth, police said. GMP has appealed for anyone with information to contact the force.

PC Suliat Gboshe said: “We understand that this incident will be extremely worrying for the local community, and we want to assure the public that this incident is being taken very seriously.

“The protection of women and girls is an absolute priority to GMP.”

GMP asked anyone with information to 101, Live Chat or charity Crimestoppers log number CRI/06A1/0028433/25.
