Losing weight is a goal many Britons share, but the overwhelming number of approaches can make it difficult to know where to start.
When striving for long-term results, it may be more important to focus on eating the right ingredients than abstain from foods.
One social media user documented her positive experience after following a carnivore diet for just 21 days.
TikToker Michelle (Michworksout) showed off her 10-pound weight loss while following the meat-based eating plan.

“A mini transformation after 21 days of carnivore 10lbs [down] and feeling much leaner,” the slimmer shared in the caption of the clip.
The content creator noted an unexpected benefit: “It has really helped me detox sugar and I have no cravings for junk food.”
According to WebMD, the carnivore diet consists exclusively of animal-based foods, with red meat options including steak, burgers and chuck roast.
Poultry, lamb and pork are equally permitted on the eating plan, as are fish like salmon and trout, alongside seafood including oysters and clams.
Organ meats such as liver and oxtail are allowed for those who enjoy them.
While eggs can be consumed, WebMD notes that these should be eaten in small amounts on the diet.
While many dieters report success following high-protein diets, scientific research also supports the effectiveness of weight loss.
A study published in Physiology & Behavior in 2012 examined 132 adults carrying excess weight, revealing significant weight loss differences based on protein intake levels.

Adults consuming 0.4 to 0.6 grams of protein per pound of body weight lost notably more weight. This was compared to those eating between 0.2 and 0.4 grams of protein per pound of body weight daily.
The carnivore diet’s effectiveness for weight loss is attributed to its high protein content which helps the body feel full after meals and naturally leads to reduced caloric intake.
The diet also provides a metabolic advantage, as protein helps boost the body’s calorie-burning rate.
However, experts note one significant drawback to the carnivore diet; its highly restrictive nature makes it challenging for many people to maintain long-term adherence to the eating plan.
