Megan Fox announced the exciting news that she is expecting her first child with fiance Machine Gun Kelly on Monday.
The Transformers star, 38, debuted her bump in an edgy shoot showing her covered in black paint as she cradled her stomach.
Megan and MGK first started dating in 2020 after meeting on the set of the crime thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass – following the breakdown of her marriage.
The actor is already a mother of three – she shares sons Noah, 10, Bodhi, nine, and Journey, six, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green. Meanwhile, this will be MGK’s second child – he has daughter Casie Colson Baker, 15, with ex Emma Cannon.
The pair got engaged two years into their romance but sparked breakup rumours in February 2023, before later reconciling. They again split in March of this year, but again rekindled ahead of their pregnancy reveal.
The news also comes a year after Megan opened up about suffering a miscarriage with MGK – which she paid tribute to in Monday’s announcement.
So has Megan finally found happiness? MailOnline looks back on her turbulent past few years as she begins a new chapter.

MISCARRIAGE
Megan’s pregnancy announcement comes a year after she opened up about suffering a miscarriage with MGK.
‘Nothing is ever really lost. welcome back,’ she wrote in the caption, adding an angel and heart emoji to the caption in reference to her miscarriage.
The post was also soundtracked to the MGK song Last November, a track about the miscarriage she previously suffered with the musician.
During an interview on Good Morning America last year, Megan said she had ‘never been through anything like that before in my life’ as she opened up about the miscarriage.
‘I have three kids [with ex Brian Austin Green],’ she shared, ‘so it was very difficult for both of us and it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately, and together and apart, and together and apart, and together and apart, trying to navigate, “What does this mean?” and “Why did this happen?”‘
She also opened up about the experience in her 2023 book of poetry, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.

Megan wrote about an ultrasound of a baby girl at 10 weeks and a day, per excerpts from People, and said: ‘maybe if you hadn’t… maybe if i had…’
She continued, ‘I want to hold your hand / hear your laugh, but now / I have to say / goodbye,’ and later adds, ‘I close my eyes and imagine holding you tight against my chest as they rip you from my insides’.
Elsewhere in the book, she wrote, ‘I will pay any price. Tell me please / what is the ransom / for her soul?’
Megan and MGK had never discussed the pregnancy loss prior to the poetry book, however the ‘Bloody Valentine’ hitmaker did appear to allude to it at the Billboard Music Awards in May 2022, dedicating his performance to Megan and adding, ‘This is for our unborn child.’
SPLIT FROM MGK
Despite announcing they are expecting a child just eight months later, Megan and MGK were reported back in March to be living apart as they worked through their relationship issues.
Megan at her Malibu pad, while the musician laid low in their shared Encino home, following news their engagement had been called off, according to a report by Us Weekly.
‘They did this arrangement to give each other some space while still being together,’ the outlet’s source explained at the time. ‘They are at a low moment right now.’
According to the insider, Megan had gone as far as requesting friends to ‘set her up’ with potential partners.
Despite this, the couple’s inner circle remained unconvinced that the romance had reached its conclusion.

‘Friends around them don’t see them completely ending the relationship as they truly change their minds every day,’ the source noted, adding that Megan ‘hasn’t been wearing her ring’ lately.
‘Megan has a hard time trusting MGK and knows it’s her own insecurities.’
The split came a year after Megan and MGK looked visibly upset as they left a marriage counselling office in California amid mounting split speculation and cheating rumours in early 2023.
However they later rekindled, with a source close to the couple telling DailyMail.com at the time: ‘They’re officially back on after going through a rocky patch in their relationship.
‘The last few months has been tough for them both but they went away together to do some healing and it’s been working. They feel more connected than ever.’
THORNY RING
In January 2022, MGK revealed a bizarre quirk of the engagement ring he helped design for Megan – it will actually cut her hand if she takes it off.
‘The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts,’ he told Vogue, explaining: ‘Love is pain!’
His remarks went public a week after Kelly, 31, and Megan, 35, sealed their engagement by drinking each other’s blood after his dramatic proposal.
Megan announced their big news with a three-camera Instagram video that showed him down on one knee at the Ritz Carlton Dorado Beach resort.

She revealed that ‘we drank each other’s blood’ after he proposed under a banyan tree – the same spot where they previously had ‘asked for magic’ in June 2020.
MGK then shared on his own Instagram page that he designed the ring in collaboration with British jeweller Stephen Webster.
Alongside a video of the ring on Megan’s finger, he wrote: ‘I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love.’

Before she met the rapper, the performer was in a long-term relationship with Beverely Hills 90210 star Brian Austin Green.
They first announced that they had become engaged two years after their first meeting in 2004, and eventually tied the knot in 2010.
The former couple went on to welcome their sons in 2012 and 2014, respectively, and Megan served as a stepmother to MGK’s older son Kassius.
The couple separated in 2015 when the actress filed for divorce for a second time, although they ended up reconciling the following year and went on to add their youngest son to their family.
Megan called off the proceedings in 2019 only to file to end her marriage in 2020.
She went on to appear in the music video for his 2020 single My Bloody Valentine, sparking rumours that they had been getting closer following her separation from Green.

Kelly later confirmed that he was in a relationship with the actress last June, and they went Instagram official the following month.
‘We co-parent really well together,’ Brian previously told E! News. ‘And we don’t fight over time with the kids. We try and alternate holidays between Christmas Day, Christmas Eve.’
However, due to their busy careers in showbusiness, the exes have to remain flexible when it comes to splitting time with their kids.
‘But we’re open to things changing. I’m very aware of—and so is she—that our schedules are insane. So when we do get time, cherish it. It’s an amazing thing and we support the other parent having time,’ he said.
