Beautiful hair does not require a trip to the salon. According to one model, luscious locks can be achieved at home.
Zoé (known as @zesthete on TikTok), shared the simple beauty hack she has learned for a magnificent mane.
Zoé does balayage to create a sun-kissed, natural look. Balayage is a technique that involves free-hand painting highlights onto the hair.
She is no stranger to heated tools, admitting that when she is on set, her hair is “fried”, as most hairstylists she works with neglect to apply heat protectant.
Beautiful hair comes from the ‘inside’, according to the model

Nevertheless, she manages to maintain beautiful hair using the right products and a specific ingredient.
The model revealed that she is diligent about hair oiling, using hair masks, scalp massages and staying on top of her hormonal health.
“But it also starts from the inside,” she said. “So you have to eat a lot of fats and collagen – I’ve put collagen in my coffee every day for the past three or four years.”
Vital Proteins confirmed that collagen can have a hair-boosting effect. Experts stated: “Collagen is a key component in healthy hair, but as your body’s natural collagen supply declines with age, you might like to try collagen supplements to help boost your levels.”
The experts at Harley Street Hair Clinic also suggested that collagen could have a positive effect on the hair.
Referencing an article published in the National Library of Medicine, they said: “There is evidence suggesting that collagen might help with hair growth, with one study indicating that collagen peptides could enhance both hair and skin health.”
They did acknowledge, however, that there currently aren’t enough studies to confirm whether or not collagen causes the reversal of hair loss. Plus, it’s important to bear in mind that some of the studies linking collagen to hair growth are funded by those with an interest in proving this link.
Nevertheless, “the intake of collagen may help your hair, especially if you are getting older and your natural collagen production has slowed”.

The hair gurus at the Harley Street Hair Clinic theorised that taking collagen could potentially slow down the effects of ageing on the hair, strengthen the hair due to its essential amino acids, and fight free radicals and greying hair with its antioxidant properties.
An article published in the National Library of Medicine suggested that 2.5g to 15g per day of functional collagen peptides is the maximum level of collagen that should be consumed. Before making changes to your diet or incorporating a new supplement, it is always advisable to consult your doctor.
Women can also increase their collagen intake via their diet. Citrus fruits, fish, chicken, eggs, bone broth, berries, garlic, leafy greens, hazelnuts and broccoli all support collagen levels.
The power of a healthy diet cannot be underestimated when it comes to beautiful hair.
Women in their 50s can improve their locks by eating more of one food group – “it’s really simple to do”.
