Peter Phelps was spotted on the tools outside his Sydney home on Monday, looking worlds away from his heartthrob status of yesteryear.
The 64-year-old actor became a household name in the ’80s thanks to her starring role as John Palmer on iconic soap Sons and Daughters.
He later went on to star on Baywatch, Stingers, Point Break, Wonderland, and Ned Kelly.
Phelps kicked off his week by putting in some hard yards on his North Sydney property’s frontage with a leaf blower and hose.
The beloved TV star wore a navy Under Armour T-shirt and shorts as he went about his chores.
He added loafers to his look along with sunglasses, and appeared to be drowning out the racket with a pair of noise cancelling earphones.

Phelps blended into the suburban surrounds with a thick grey beard and moustache.
Rewind 20 years and the Sydney father-of-two would not have been able to do so without attracting crowds of excitable fans.
According to the deluge of comments left on a recent post in the ‘Memory Lane – Growing up in Australia’ Facebook nostalgia group, the prolific ’80s star is still a hit.
‘Absolute Aussie legend, what a hunk,’ one person wrote. ‘Hasn’t been in anything where he hasn’t been excellent. From S&D, to Stingers, All Saints, Police Rescue – is there an Aussie show that he hasn’t been in?’
‘He was a real fair dinkum Aussie spunk back in the day,’ another woman chimed in. ‘Beautiful blue eyes.’

‘Loved him back then and love him now. Still good looking!’ one fan defended, with yet another comment ‘wishing’ he would make more Home and Away appearances.
‘When he came to Perth for Telethon, I was behind him in the “Thank-you Very Much For Your Kind Donation-Conga Dance”,’ one group member wrote. ‘I had to shepherd off some women that were trying to take my “conga” position.’
‘In 1984, I went to buy a BMW 2002 coupe in Sydney,’ one man commented. ‘When I went to seller’s nice house in the North Sydney suburbs, it was Peter Phelps. He was acting in Sons and Daughters then.
‘My girlfriend went to jelly when he came out in the car for the test drive. He was as nice and unpretentious as he appears.’
The veteran Aussie actor sent Home and Away fans into a frenzy earlier this year when he appeared on set in leaked filming photos.
Phelps has played recurring character Gary Morrow since 2022, but his history with Australia’s longest-running soap goes back to 2007, when he directed 20 episodes of the series and originally starred as Alan
Gary tends to only re-appear in Summer Bay around big storylines.
Phelps is still acting and recently appeared in one episode of TV mini series’ Plum and Roast Night, as well as an episode of Return to Paradise.

In 2017, Sons and Daughters star Rowena Wallace revealed she was 35-years-old when she enjoyed a night of passion with Peter, who was 13 years her junior, and played her son on the show.
‘We wound up in fact all the way over on the northern beaches, where Peter lived on his own in an apartment near the surf,’ she said.
‘We were down on the beach after having a few drinks when Pete suggested we go for a late-night swim, I stripped down to my knickers.’
At the time Rowena was at the height of her career, with her role on the series winning her a Gold Logie in 1984 and four Silver Logies – so she kept silent about their one night stand.
Peter has played Phil North in Heartbreak High, Jose Messina in Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities, Abo Henry in Blue Murder, Peter Church in Stingers, Vince Marcello in Rescue Special Ops, and Alan Henderson in his first stint on Home and Away.
He lives with his wife Donna Fawkes, whom he married in 2000, and their daughters.
