A newly unearthed interview has cast doubt into Zack Polanski’s claim he immediately apologised for offering hypnotic therapy intended to increase a woman’s breast size.

Before the current Green Party leader entered politics, Mr Polanski was contacted by an undercover journalist from The Sun to see if a session could make her breasts bigger.

Much to her surprise, the Sun reporter claims the session at Mr Polanski’s central London consulting room in 2013 had the desired effect.

Since he became leader of the Green Party of England and Wales in September 2025, Mr Polanski has distanced himself from the story, claiming he was misrepresented by the Sun article.

Mr Polanski claims to have spoken to the BBC the day after the Sun article was published to apologise, however the broadcaster could not find evidence of such an apology.

However, six days later on June 13, Mr Polanski did speak to BBC Radio Humberside where he defended the therapy.

He said: “We’ve done it a couple of times and there seems to be no shift, but actually, increasingly more and more as I work with people, there is starting to be anecdotal evidence at least of a growth in breast size.

“With her breast size, in the Sun article, she says that she grew four inches. It didn’t change her cup size, she stayed the same cup size, but she said it was a tighter fit.”

When asked if he personally believed that hypnotherapy could increase breast size, Mr Polanski replied: “I believe that it can happen in theory.”

Taking aim at the Green Party leader, a Labour Party source told the BBC: “Zack Polanski’s ego might have got bigger, but nothing else has.

“It’s now clear that his pretence to have been misrepresented over his breast enlargement hypnosis scam was absolute nonsense, he got called out years later.”

“You can’t trust a word he says, he’ll say whatever he thinks you want to hear.”

When first asked about the Sun’s article, Mr Polanski said he was “a young Londoner who was holding down four jobs”.

He continued: “I think I saw it as a way to talk about body image and work that can happen where people don’t go under surgery, but can actually feel better about themselves…What I’m careful about, though, is that that is not justification…I’ve apologised for it, and I stick by that apology.”

Hitting back at Labour over the emergence of the BBC Radio Humberside interview, a Green Party source told the BBC: “Zack has repeatedly apologised for an interview he did with the Sun more than a decade ago.

“Now, Zack is focused on the issues that really matter to people: bringing down bills, protecting the NHS and rebuilding our public services.”

Mr Polanski won the Green Party leadership in a landslide victory, winning 20,411 votes from the party membership, while Herefordshire North MP Ellie Chowns and Waveney Valley MP Adrian Ramsay’s joint campaign got just 3,705 votes.

After his leadership election, Mr Polanski said “[do] not believe everything you read in The Sun” adding that he has apologised for offering the treatment.

When asked if he believed that it is possible to change bra size with the mind, he added: “Anyone who believed that, that would be problematic, and that was nothing I ever believed.

“I was approached by The Sun and they asked me ‘Would you like to do an article about body image’ and I said ‘yes’.”

Since becoming leader of the Greens, Mr Polanski has overseen the party’s rise in the polls, leading to the party’s victory in the Gorton & Denton by-election.

According to The Times, the Green Party leader has since held informal talks with up to 10 backbench Labour MPs who are sympathetic to the party’s agenda.

One Labour MP reportedly said they had been questioned by their whip over fears they would defect to the Greens and were “collared” around Westminster by a cabinet minister who accused them of being in contact with Mr Polanski.

A Green Party source told The National: “Zack regularly talks with some Labour MPs. There’s nothing new to say at the moment on defections and the party is a lot more focused on winning many more seats in the local elections in May and on where the next by-election might be.”

A source close to the Whips’ Office told the Telegraph they did not recognise the claim a Labour MP had been approached relating to possible defections.
