Residents in Gosport have said parcels are going missing despite being marked as “delivered”, with complaints about courier firm Evri rising sharply in recent weeks.

Ruby Armstrong says she was left frustrated after a delivery she had requested to be left in a “safe place” never arrived.

The photo provided as proof of delivery showed a location she did not recognise.

“They sent me a delivery confirmation photo and it was sort of up against a brick wall and on a road,” she said.

“I had a look around the area and I couldn’t find anywhere that matched the photo.”

After contacting Evri, Ms Armstrong says she received what she described as a generic response and was refused a refund.

“It’s completely shattered my faith in Evri,” she added.

Concerns have also been raised by other delivery workers.

A Royal Mail postman, Ben Roberts, told GB News he regularly comes across parcels that appear to have been abandoned.

“As I go round with the Royal Mail, I’m finding packages just dumped,” he said.

“Just yesterday, I found an Evri parcel in the gutter.

“I’m finding Evri parcels at the bottom of stairs — you only have to drive round to see them.”

Gosport MP Dame Caroline Dinenage says she has received hundreds of emails from constituents reporting missing deliveries.

She has written to Evri’s chief executive calling for an investigation.

“We’ve had so many complaints — I’ve never known anything like it,” she said.

“In one case, there was an entire pile of parcels dumped in a local car park. This really isn’t good enough.”

Eight MPs from across the country have now written to Evri over similar issues in their constituencies, raising concerns the problem is nationwide.

In a statement, an Evri spokesman said this is the busiest time of year for deliveries, with volumes doubling ahead of Christmas.

The company said it has invested in local operational improvements and apologised for the disruption, adding that it supported Ruby in securing a refund.

With Christmas approaching, many customers remain concerned their parcels may not arrive in time.
