Political Reporter at Politics Home Tom Scotson has told GB News that there is a “trend” growing in “identity politics” in order to win votes.

Speaking to Britain’s Newsroom, Mr Scotson said: “I feel that we’re going to see more of this trend now, that sort of identity politics where you show voters that you care for them by kind of giving them token gestures.

“And it has worked in the past, MPs had signed a Hindu manifesto, not just Labour, but Tory MPs as well, with George Galloway as well, of course, really courting the Muslim community.

“So I guess that if there are votes to be won and there is no kind of real political philosophy championing against this, then I feel that this is just going to be a trend that is going to continue for the years ahead.”
