Gordon Ramsay’s wife, Tana, has shared a conversation she had with her son-in-law, Adam Peaty’s mother, which took place ahead of the feud that ensued between the two families.

Mr Ramsay recently spoke out to label reports that he had “bullied” the family of Olympic swimmer Mr Peaty as “appalling.”

The updates follow the recent wedding of the chef’s daughter, Holly, to the swimmer, whose mother, Caroline, was banned from attending.

Mr Ramsay insisted recently that he treated the Peaty family “like royalty,” and Mrs Ramsay has now recalled her account of opening up to Caroline.

Speaking to Grazia, she shared: “I remember saying to Adam’s mum when I met her, ‘My God, you’ve got the most amazing son. I couldn’t think of anyone that is more perfect for Holly, who’s incredibly emotional, incredibly vulnerable in areas.'”

She went on to describe her 26-year-old daughter as “funny, brilliant, and witty,” but added she “needs keeping in line.”

Mrs Ramsay also mentioned both Holly and her new husband have “been through a lot.”

She recalled telling Caroline: “In my mind, he’s perfect for our daughter.”

Stealing much of the attention were the newlyweds, who arrived having recently returned from their honeymoon – the event marking their first public appearance as a married couple.

Holly opted for a burgundy mini dress complemented by silver heels, while Adam chose a well-fitted suit for the occasion.

Also in attendance was 24-year-old Tilly Ramsay, accompanied by her partner Henry Farrow. The pair appeared at ease throughout the evening as they socialised with other guests.

Six-year-old Oscar was present too, joining in the family celebration for his father’s latest television project.

Speaking earlier this month, Mr Ramsay was forthright about the situation with the Peaty family, stating: “It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them.”

Mr Ramsay revealed that the family had arranged chauffeur-driven transport for Adam’s relatives to attend the engagement party, treating them “like royalty.”

He described the subsequent media coverage as “very hurtful,” noting that his wife Tana “took it very seriously.”
