A former police officer allegedly raped and strangled a woman while on duty, according to the policing watchdog.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said ex-constable Rikki Hall had been charged with two counts of rape and one count of non-fatal strangulation.
The 33-year-old is accused of attacking the woman while on duty in Swansea city centre in February 2024.
Hall, who resigned from South Wales Police during the IOPC investigation, has also been charged with possession of a firearm and two counts of misconduct in public office.
He will appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
The IOPC said its investigation began in February 2024 following a mandatory conduct referral from South Wales Police.
“A substantial file of material was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2025 and, following further lines of enquiry being undertaken, charges were authorised by the CPS,” it added.
