Ever wondered what Britons were collectively curious about this year? Google’s Year in Search 2025 gives you the answer.

This is a snapshot of the searches that saw the biggest jumps in traffic compared to last year. These aren’t the usual suspects like “weather” or website names — those are always popular.

Instead, these trending queries show you what people were genuinely fascinated by in 2025 that they weren’t searching for before. Think of it as a window into our shared experiences — the cultural moments, the events, and the questions that brought us all together globally.

So how does Google work all this out? The data Google uses covers searches made between January 1, 2025 and November 23, 2025, giving you the full picture on what captured the most attention throughout the year.

The tech firm uses anonymous, aggregated data from its internal Trends tools to calculate these figures, tracking everything from individuals to movements and landmark events worldwide.
