Meghan Markle made a striking return to Europe over the weekend, stepping out in two contrasting Balenciaga looks during Paris Fashion Week.

The Duchess of Sussex attended the Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2026 show on Saturday in a custom white ensemble designed by the fashion house’s new creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli.

The outfit featured an oversized cape layered over a crisp shirt and wide-leg trousers, paired with Balenciaga’s signature black “Knife” point heels.

The 44-year-old attended the show to support Mr Piccioli, a longtime friend and collaborator.

The designer, who recently joined Balenciaga after 25 years at Valentino, has worked closely with Meghan on several occasions.

She was joined at the event by her close friend Markus Anderson, global membership director of Soho House.

A spokesman for the Duchess said: “Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo.

“They have worked closely together, collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage.

“She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different.

“This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga.”

Following the show, Meghan changed into a sleek black Balenciaga gown for the evening.

The one-shoulder design featured an elegant drape across the back, creating a minimalist yet sculptural silhouette.

She completed the look with pointed black heels, her oval diamond stud earrings, and her pear-shaped diamond ring – a piece that has sparked speculation among style watchers about its origin.

Initially thought to be by Logan Hollowell, the ring’s band design differs from the brand’s Classic Queen ring, leaving its source unconfirmed.

The Duchess’s choice to pair the mystery ring with understated gold accessories added to the evening’s polished simplicity.

Both outfits reflected Meghan’s preference for modern, monochrome tailoring and clean lines – a style evolution that has come to define her public appearances in recent years.

The white day look nodded to her history with Mr Piccioli’s design aesthetic at Valentino, while the black gown embodied the pared-back sophistication Balenciaga is known for.

This trip marked Meghan’s first visit to Europe since the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany.

While she attended without Prince Harry, her presence drew significant attention at one of fashion’s most high-profile weeks of the year.

Her support for Piccioli’s debut at Balenciaga cements her continued influence in the fashion world, blending her Hollywood background with her royal platform.

With both looks balancing restraint and refinement, Meghan’s Paris Fashion Week appearance signalled a confident return to the European style stage — one that combined friendship, fashion and flawless execution.
