However, a salary was not visible on the job advert. According to Glassdoor, the average hourly pay for cleaning assistants in Denmark is approximately DKK 135 an hour, which equates to £15.

Applicants are expected to bring a keen eye for detail, a cheerful disposition, and the ability to work as part of a larger team that supports the daily functions and ceremonial duties of the royal household.

The job description makes clear that the Royal House values a strong work ethic, adaptability, and collaboration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including cleaning, dishwashing, minor serving tasks, wardrobe service, preparing guest rooms and general guest service.

While most duties will take place at the Copenhagen and Fredensborg residences, occasional service at Denmark’s country Palaces is expected, particularly when members of the Royal Family are staying there. Some weekend and public holiday work may also be required.

The Court is offering a 37-hour week, including lunch breaks, along with benefits such as health and life insurance, massage and physiotherapy access, and a range of other staff perks.

A valid category B driving licence is essential, and applicants with their own car are preferred.

While experience in cleaning is highly valued, personal qualities are equally important. The Court is seeking someone who is “happy, responsible and dedicated,” and who can work well in a “sometimes changeable everyday life.”

Discretion and professionalism are likely to be crucial, though the listing does not explicitly state it.

All applicants must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance to work in the royal residences. The Danish Royal House has partnered with the recruitment firm FUGL LEONHARDT to handle applications in line with GDPR regulations.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply via the link provided in the original listing and can contact representatives Suzette or Connie with questions about the role.

The Danish Royal Court employs approximately 140 staff members across a wide range of disciplines, from drivers and cabinetmakers to communications, finance and human resources staff.

The working culture is described as collaborative, with an emphasis on high quality and a deep understanding of the unique responsibilities of supporting the monarchy.
